Peptide Name: CDK11 (581-587) pY582+pT583
Product Use: This phosphopeptide may be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The presentation as a dimer increases the potential activity. The peptide sequence is located in the protein kinase catalytic domain activation T loop region between subdomains VII and VIII. Y582+T583 phosphorylation is predicted to stimulate phosphotransferase activity.

Scientific Background: CDK11 (CDK19, CD2L6) is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the CMGC group and CDK family. It is a protein kinase that is a component of Mediator coactivator complex, which is required for transcriptional activation. It has cyclin-dependent protein serine/threonine kinase activity. RT-PCR ELISA detected highest expression was in corpus callosum, followed by kidney and ovary. Phosphorylation at T436 or Y437 inactivates CDK11, while phosphorylation at T583 activates it.
