Peptide Name: EEF1A1 (155-165) pT158+pS162
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the EEF1A1-pT158+pS162 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN554) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the first GTP_EFTU domain. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: MDS-pT-EPPY-pS-QK
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: EEF1A1 promotes the GTP-dependent binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the A-site of ribosomes during protein biosynthesis. It forms a comple with PARP1 and TXK that acts as a T helper 1 (Th1) cell-specific transcription factor and binds the promoter of IFN-gamma to directly regulate its transcription, and is thus involved importantly in Th1 cytokine production.
