Peptide Name: MLK3 (274-280) pT277+pS281
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the MLK3-pT277 + pS281 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PK870) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the protein kinase catalytic domain activation T-loop between subdomains VII and VIII. T277 and S281 phosphorylation stimulate phosphotransferase activity.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: WHK-pT-TQM-pS-AA
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: Gly-Cys
Scientific Background: MLK3 (MAP3K11) is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the TKL group and MLK family. It induces the indirect activation of B-Raf, MKK4 (MAP2K4), MKK7 (MAP2K7), JNK1 (MAPK8), MAPK14 and ERK1 (MAPK3). Homodimerization via the leucine zipper domains is required for autophosphorylation at T277 and S281 and increases phosphotransferase activity.
