Peptide Name: QSK (408-414) pT411
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the SIK3-pT411 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PK815) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the first third of the protein. This is one of the two major in vivo sites for phosphorylation of SIK3. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: RRH-pT-VGV
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: SIK3 (QSK) is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the CAMK group and CAMKL family. It is a member of the salt-inducible kinase family. SIK3 is activated by phosphorylation on T163 by STK11 in complex with STE20-related adapter-alpha (STRAD alpha) pseudo kinase and CAB39. It is a AMPK-family kinase that is ubiquitously expressed in the cytoplasm. In ovarian cancer, overexpression of SIK3 promotes G1/S cell cycle progression and cell proliferation and may therefore function as an oncoprotein.
