Peptide Name: QSK (160-166) pT163
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the SIK3-pT163 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PK814) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the protein kinase catalytic domain activation T-loop between subdomains VII and VIII. T163 phosphorylation is predicted to stimulate phosphotransferase activity.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: LLK-pT-WCG
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: SIK3 (QSK) is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the CAMK group and CAMKL family. It is a member of the salt-inducible kinase family. SIK3 is activated by phosphorylation on T163 by STK11 in complex with STE20-related adapter-alpha (STRAD alpha) pseudo kinase and CAB39. It is a AMPK-family kinase that is ubiquitously expressed in the cytoplasm. In ovarian cancer, overexpression of SIK3 promotes G1/S cell cycle progression and cell proliferation and may therefore function as an oncoprotein.
