Peptide Name: QIK (355-361) pS358
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the SIK2-pS358 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PK813) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located after the kinase catalytic domain. S358 phosphorylation stimulates phosphotransferase activity.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: RRP-pS-TIA
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: SIK2 (QIK) is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the CAMK group and CAMKL family. It is a member of the salt-inducible kinase family. SIK2 may modulate the efficiency of insulin signal transduction, and affect insulin resistancy. It is activated by phosphorylation on T175 by LKB1 (STK11) in complex with STE20-related adapter-alpha (STRAD alpha) pseudo kinase and CAB39. It stimulates histone deacetylases export. SIK2 is a centrosome kinase required for bipolar mitotic spindle formation, and may be a potential target for therapy in ovarian cancer.
