Peptide Name: Ksr1 (401-407) pS406
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the Ksr1-pS406 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PK675) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the region between the KSR1-SAM and kinase catalytic domains. This is the major in vivo phosphorylation site in Krs1. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: RTE-pS-VPS
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: Ksr1 (kinase suppressor of Ras 1) is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the TKL group and RAF family. It is a Raf-related pseudokinase and may directly mediate Raf activation. It acts as a scaffold for the Raf/MEK/ERK kinase cascade. No specific mutations have been directly implicated in oncogenesis although loss of Ksr1 function will blunt the Ras pathway and therefore attenuate its oncogenic potential.
