Peptide Name: CaMK1a (174-180) pT177
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the CaMK1a-pT177 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PK553) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the protein kinase catalytic domain. T177 phosphorylation stimulates phosphotransferase activity.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: VLS-pT-ACG
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: CaMK1a is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the CAMK group and CAMK1 family. Phosphorylation at Thr-177 increases its phosphotransferase activity by approximately 25-fold in a Ca(2+)-CaM dependent manner. Thr-177 is phosphorylated by CAMKK1 or CAMKK2. CaMK1a and CaMKK1 regulate the G(O)-G(1) restriction check point for cell cycle transition in human breast cancer cells. Target substrates for CaMK1a includes CREB1, ATF1, CFTR, MYL9, and SYN1/synapsin I.
