Peptide Name: BRD2 (34-40) pS37
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the BRD2-pS37 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PK546) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located near the N-terminus of the protein. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear. This is a major site of phosphorylation for BRD2.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: RKP-pS-LLY
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: BRD2 is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the Atypical group and BRD family. It is a transcriptional regulator that associates with transcription complexes and acetylated chromatin during mitosis. It plays a role in regulation of transcription through chromatin remodeling and nucleosome assembly. Mutations on multiple sites on BRD2 lead to loss of homodimerization.
