Peptide Name: TLN1 (67-73) pY70
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the TLN1-pY70 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PN542) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the N-terminus of the protein. This is the major in vivo phosphorylation site in TLN1. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: ALD-pY-YML
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: Talin-1 is a cytoskeletal protein that is found in areas of cell-substratum and cell-cell contacts. It plays a significant role in the assembly of actin filaments and in spreading and migration of various cell types, including fibroblasts and osteoclasts. This protein interacts with integrins in the cell surface membrane in order to assist in the attachment of adherent cells to extracellular matrices and of lymphocytes to other cells. The N-terminus of this protein facilitates localization to cell-extracellular matrix junction, whereas the C-terminus contains binding sites for proteins such as beta-1-integrin, actin, and vinculin.
