Peptide Name: A6r (306-312) pY309
Product Use: Services as a blocking peptide for use with the A6r-pY309 rabbit polyclonal antibody (Cat. No.: AB-PK502) that is also available from Kinexus. This phosphopeptide may also be useful as a substrate for screening the phosphatase activity of protein phosphatases. The peptide sequence is located in the at the end of the Cofilin_ADF domain. The major site of phosphorylation of A6r. The effect of its phosphorylation is unclear.
Peptide Production Method: Solid-phase peptide synthesis
Peptide Origin: Homo sapiens
Peptide Sequence: EFL-pY-DEV
Peptide Modifications N Terminus: Free amino
Peptide Modifications C Terminus: βAla-Cys
Scientific Background: A6r appears to be an actin-binding protein involved in motile and morphological processes. It inhibits actin polymerization, probably by sequestering G-actin. By capping the barbed ends of filaments, it also regulates motility. It seems to play an important role in clathrin-mediated endocytosis and distribution of endocytic organelles.
