Scientific Background: ROCK1 (ROK-beta) is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the AGC group and DMPK family. It is a key regulator of actin cytoskeleton and cell polarity. It is activated by binding the small G protein RhoA. D1113A substitution leads to abolished cleavage by caspase-3. Down-regulating ROCK1 may be useful strategy for inhibiting migration and invasion of glioma and gastric cancer.
