Scientific Background: RSK4 (RPS6KA6) is a protein-serine/threonine kinase of the AGC group and RSK family. It regulates various cellular processes such as cell growth, motility and proliferation, and plays an inhibitory role during embryogenesis. RSK4 is activated by multiple phosphorylations on threonine and serine residues. It has been suggested to bea constitutively active protein kinase that exhibits growth-factor-independent kinase activity and that may participate in p53/TP53-dependent cell growth arrest signalling and play an inhibitory role during embryogenesis.
